Significance

Showing English while we prepare the translation
Keezhperumpallam Naganatha Swamy Temple — also called Kethu Sthalam — is the Navagraha temple for Ketu, the south lunar node. Lord Shiva is worshipped as Naganatha Swamy; Ketu has a separate shrine. The temple is about 2 km from Poompuhar and 93 km from Thanjavur, on the Thanjavur-Poompuhar road. Devotees visit to seek relief from Ketu afflictions — particularly Kala Sarpa Dosha (when paired with Tirunageshwaram for Rahu), spiritual obstacles, unexplained illnesses, and impediments in moksha-seeking practices. Ketu is the karaka of liberation (moksha) in Hindu astrology. The temple has a recently rebuilt flat rajagopuram with a single prakaram. Pilgrims typically pair the visit with Tirunageshwaram (Rahu) on the same day to address Kala Sarpa Dosha completely.
