About this place
Showing English while we prepare the translationThe Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple at Yadagirigutta sits on a small hill 60 km from Hyderabad. The presiding deity is Lord Narasimha — the man-lion fourth avatar of Vishnu — in a self-manifested (swayambhu) form said to have appeared to the rishi Yadava in the Treta Yuga, giving the village its name. The temple's main feature is the panchanarasimha kshetra — five swayambhu Narasimha forms (Jwala, Yogananda, Gandabherunda, Ugra, and Lakshmi-Narasimha) all enshrined in the same complex.
The temple was massively redeveloped between 2016 and 2022 under the Telangana government's Yadagirigutta Temple Development Authority — a Rs 1,000+ crore project that expanded the complex from 6 acres to 1,800 acres, added pilgrim accommodation, and rebuilt the main temple in classical South Indian Dravida style. The temple is now Telangana's principal Vaishnava destination — locally called the 'Tirupati of Telangana'. Daily darshan numbers regularly exceed 30,000 on weekends. Online booking via the YTDA portal is the standard route.
